Ever notice people usually come up with ideas in cafes (think Harry Potter)?  The idea for "Aliens of Extraordinary Ability" started when we went out with Meri and Dean Davis to dinner a couple of weeks ago, and Meri started talking about a t-shirt she got that had "Alien of Extraordinary Ability" printed on it.  I can't remember the story behind the t-shirt off the top of my head, but we suddenly started brainstorming ideas for a comic (an "Alien of Extraordinary Ability" is really a term used for immigrants who can get permanent visas to stay here if they can prove that they have an "extraordinary ability" that is beneficial to society.)

Then, at The Reactor convention a few days later, Steve started sketching out alien concepts while we were sitting at the Outback Steak House with some of the staff and guests.  He used crayon and an Outback piece of paper cause that's all they had.  In fact, crayon might just be the media of choice for this comic.

Below are the concept sketches.  And for the rest of the story behind the story, stay tuned...
